Hi there! I’m Jason and I’m a radio journalist (among other things).
I tell stories about people and the things that affect them from novel medical innovations to confusing government legislation and even user-friendly product design. I’m curious about what we think, who we are, and why we do the things we do. I ask a lot of questions and it drives my mother crazy.
Ryerson University is my alma mater. I graduated in 2013 from the RTA School of Media Radio and Television Arts program. Now I’m at Western University’s Master of Media in Journalism and Communication program. I’ll be one step closer to “Dr. Vermes” in just a few months.
On air, I produce documentaries and ran a current affairs show on AMI-audio called Insights. It examined health, science and social issues through the lens of disability and accessibility.
In writing, I’ve explored my childhood through the voice of my Hungarian grandmother. You can learn more about my youthful dream to be like Oprah over at my blog, Goulash and Guilt.

If you’re wondering, it’s pronounced with an “H” on the end. Ver-MESH. Nagy Mama says it best.
